The Steinel HL 1620 S is the most basic and therefore most reasonably priced version among the hot air tools. The temperature and the amount of air (volume) can be set at two different levels; a cold stage is not available. A thermal fuse protects the blower from the danger of overheating. You can also depend on the fact that, as a Steinel product, this hot air blower will also possess the high quality that the company is known for - just look at the 36 month guarantee if you need any proof of this!!
The uses of a good hot air tool are multifarious: plastic pieces can be warmed for shaping purposes or welded to one another (see the "Info about the Material" under the heading "Plastic"). In electronics, cable ends or soldering points can be shrink-wrapped in HEAT SHRINKABLE TUBING using this tool. Such a heater blower is also useful for removing old paint or stickers or other types of glued surfaces. As you know from using your hair dryer, hot air will dry things out: paints, grouts and fillers, etc. can be dried out as well. And last but not least, the maximum temperature is enough to make a soft solder - which means it can also be used to remove solder! You can, of course, also use it on your hair but it is not advised if you put any value on your appearance!
