This matte coloured adhesive film is very versatile: for example, it can be used as a lettering and laminating film in trade show and store constructions, as an interior decoration film or used for outdoor lettering if its intended use is only for the medium term. When employed vertically outdoors, its service life is about 3 years under normal Middle European climatic conditions. The durability of the film and its ability to be removed can both be negatively influenced by environmental conditions (strong UV exposure, high humidity, atypical locations). Beyond that, a film’s colour may also become less bright.

This film can be easily cut with a scissors, cutter or artist knife. Working with it on a plotter cutter is likewise easy to manage because of its stable flatness while it can also be successfully screen-printed as well. The manufacturer recommends that when wet-gluing, your water should contain no additives. Also note; a matte surface is more difficult to clean than a glossy one.

The manufacturer guarantees this film´s weather resistance for up to four years (colours and metallic colours) or, alternatively, up to five years (for black and white) when the film is employed in a vertical position and exposed to normal Middle European climatic conditions. The manufacturer also guarantees a short term heat resistance of up to 80 °C. The 651 coloured adhesive film can be used indoors with practically no restrictions but can also be used successfully outdoors for purposes like making signs or automobile advertising. When gluing it to an auto´s paint, it is recommended that you test the viability in advance (somewhere inconspicuous) or ask the automobile manufacturer in order to prevent any damage to the paint job.

This cast film is noteworthy because of its luminous colour tones and high degree of colour coverage. As a fluorescent film, it is great for creating eye-catching two-dimensional colour arrangements that can serve as a kind of signal at trade shows, for advertising or for signs displaying special offers. It is primarily designed for indoor use – the manufacturer guarantees a service life of one year (colours maintain their brightness!). The manufacturer gives no specifications regarding outdoor use but does recommend it only be used short-term in that case. This film is also available as an adhesive tape in widths of 5, 10 and 20 mm.

Because of its stable flatness, the Oracal 6510 – as is the case with other Oracal films – this film lends itself to being worked on with a plotter cutter. It can be cut manually with a scissors, cutter or artist knife and great results can be achieved with screen-printing as well.

The D-MX mirror adhesive film from X-film is a PETP and aluminium composite film with average adhesive strength that is primarily designed for use indoors. Its “easy liner” technology makes it great for dry gluing; fine air channels running throughout the area with the adhesive make it easy to quickly remove air bubbles under the film by rubbing them out to the sides. Wet gluing is not recommended because the gas-tight PET does not allow enough evaporation of moisture. The improved surface quality produces a particularly smooth and high-quality appearance.

D-MX mirror film can only be used outdoors for limited amounts of time – long-term applications should really be indoors only. When used indoors this mirror film can produce eye-catching designs for trade show displays, advertisements or other types of decorative applications.

With D-C-Fix Velour Adhesive Film, you can give furniture, accessories and DIY projects a velvety soft surface. The viscose flocking scores with insensitive properties. Dirt can be easily removed with a soft cloth or brush.

The self-adhesive backing is provided with a solvent-free acrylic adhesive. These synthetic adhesives convince with age and temperature resistant properties.

To make it easier for you to measure the required film, the backing paper is provided with a practical centimeter grid.

For optimum gluing results, it is advisable to first remove only part of the backing paper and apply the film. It is then advisable to work from the center outwards. The use of a squeegee is recommended for smoothing. If you do not succeed in applying the film right away, that is not a problem. If you have not used the film on paper and cardboard, you can carefully peel it off and reposition it. It reaches its full adhesive strength only after a few hours.

The two sides of the double-sided adhesive film DK4 from the Aslan company have differing adhesive strengths. The side with the silicone release liner has an adhesive with delayed initial stickiness and therefore makes adjustments possible when applying it. The side with the orange coloured release liner has a special adhesive which, even after an extended period of time, allows the film to be easily removed from all smooth surfaces.

In addition to its customary uses (removable applications or creating self-adhesive placards, maps, blueprints, drawings, advertisements, etc.) this film, because of the removable adhesive on its one side, is also good for use in affixing materials to milling tables.

The initial stickiness of the side with the paper release liner is about 2.5 N, but after a week it rises to about 4 N. The initial stickiness of the side with the film release liner is about 1.5 N, but likewise rises after a week to about 4 N. Despite the fact that after a week the adhesive strengths are the same, the side with the film release liner is still easier to remove.

When working with this product, the temperature should be at least 15 °C. Once the adhesive has set, this film is temperature resistant from -30 °C to +80 °C.

Transfer film, or “Application Tape”, is used to transfer cut-out letters that have already been trimmed. The adhesive side of the film should be placed over the front side of your lettering or motif before the protective paper cover is removed from the backside of the lettering or motif. In this way, the lettering remains in position and you are saved the time-consuming necessity of arranging the letters one at a time. The film’s high tensile strength makes it easy to position exactly where you want. Its low degree of adhesive strength allows the film to be easily removed even from paper after your lettering has been transferred whereby it can then be used again if you wish. Even after a time period of six months, it is still possible to remove it without leaving any residue and without any noticeable increase in its stickiness as might be expected with a glue that has aged. It should be noted that in the above instance, the film is then not suitable for use outdoors for the long-term.

DX can be used universally on all smooth surfaces. The adhesive strength of the DX-2 film is about double that of the DX-1 film (expressed in numbers: adhesive strength as per FINAT/FTM 1 for DX-1 ≥ 5 N; for DX-2 ≥ 12 N).

The lampshade self-adhesive film is a antistatic treated rigid-PVC film which can be used for making lampshades whereby cloth or other materials (e.g. MULBERRY PAPER or BOOKBINDING CLOTH) can be glued to it. The film itself is flame resistant but it should be noted that the glue underneath it can burn. In case of fire the glue will smolder but the film will not catch fire. The white version, however, when used in combination with white cloth or paper lets just enough light through the shade that a pleasantly warm light results.

Oramask 810 is designed for use with every type of painting and spraying technique found being employed in the automobile lettering, stencil painting, advertising and trade show construction sectors. Because of its suppleness, it can also be used on slightly uneven substrates. Motifs made by spraying over this stencil film have very high definition edges. Please note that this film cannot be wet glued.

Stencils can be cut out of this film by hand with a cutter or by using a plotter cutter, scissors or artist knife.

The surface of the Decor adhesive film from D-C-Fix is lightly textured such that it reduces its transparency: this has led to its naturally being used on glass when the goal is to prevent a clear view into neighboring spaces.

Bubble wrap is ideal for protecting any item during transport. Already with a few layers of the film is achieved a high degree of insensitivity of the packaged contents. The small air chambers optimally absorb shocks and distribute the acting force over the surface.

Bubble wrap is made of the less dense polyethylene (PE LD). The material is quite tough, so the air chambers do not burst so quickly. In waste incineration PE burns without residue to water and carbon dioxide.

Practically every material can be made magnetic with self-adhesive magnetic foil. Individual magnetic signs or labels can be made which adhere very well to steel sheet. This flexible foil can be quickly and easily cut to the required length with a blade or scissors.

Leather straps are very resistant to tearing and are thereby great for making chains or strings for jewellery, armbands or key ring pendants. In addition, they can be used for bookbinding or used as an accessory on clothing or handbags or even as a fastener with a special decorative (cowboy?) look.

These are strong chains for hanging, pulling, securing and blocking off. If you want to encase the chain in rubber in the way familiar with bicycle chains, we recommend you use our HEAT SHRINKABLE TUBING or an old bicycle tube. Please take a look at our fine selection of HOOKS, which can be very helpful for hanging purposes.

The maximum bearing capacity of the individual chains is as follows:

• 1,5 x 23,0 x 8,0 mm 12 kg
• 3,5 x 28,0 x 14,0 mm 63 kg

The maximum recommended bearing capacity is a calculated one because chains are not subject to quality requirements. Chains conforming to DIN 5685 are not tested to the norms of DIN 685, part 3 and are not allowed to be used as a means of suspension or as a weight bearing device as set out in DIN 15003 and are also not to be used for the static hanging of loads.

For example: if the theoretical breaking strength of a chain is 96 kg, the quotient of 98¸ 8 (the “one-eighth” security factor) gives the actual maximum bearing capacity of 12 kg. This “security factor” specifies by what factor a construction element’s ability to be stressed must be diminished based on such things as tolerances, material defects, etc. This is a theoretical calculation. The factor runs between 1 and 10. Ten is the highest security value and is applied to things like elevator cables. The recommended bearing capacity of the chains in our assortment is calculated using a security factor of 8. All information regarding bearing capacity is none-the-less non-binding (without liability) and not guaranteed by Modulor.

These chains are not really designed to carry or pull or secure heavy loads because the individual links are fairly easy to bend if you have the right tool or enough adrenaline. They are more suitable for hanging and connecting (and naturally for handicrafting) when the stress involved will be small. For instance, you could hang them from the ceiling next to your desk and, using MAGNETS, use them as a kind of pin board (you could also use a WIRE ROPE for this instead but still…….)

The recommended maximum bearing capacity of this chain is 12 kg. This weight is a calculated one, based on a “security factor”. All information regarding bearing capacity is non-binding (without liability) and not guaranteed by Modulor.

It was for all the people that want not only a fine chain but a decidedly lightweight and fine link chain that we added this aluminium version to our assortment. You can’t really find a lighter weight chain! Aluminium is well known for being a somewhat soft metal, which accounts for the lack of real strength and stability in this chain. It is basically a decorative chain for which there are no actual bearing capacity stipulations. The individual links are not welded – they can be bent open and closed as you like for hanging purposes or to connect one end with the other.

Top qualitiy wire rope is made with stainless steel, which will not rust (but, on the other hand, is not usually magnetic either!). Stainless steel construction elements are definitely recommended when their use will include exposure to moisture – in the case of wire rope, one can alternatively use the PVC jacketed version instead.

Wire ropes can be formed into a loop by using SIMPLEX or DUPLEX CLIPS. We do have on offer steel wires that have been made up in this way for the purpose of hanging in a GALLERY SYSTEM: the STEEL WIRE WITH HOLDING BRACKET is one example.

Because these PVC round cords contain plasticizer, they are not suitable to be used as toys for children. Also keep in mind that the plasticizer increases the flammability.

When lit with a black light the neon cords really give off great bright colours. Interesting effects can also be produced by stretching the cords and placing them in the rays of a black light. The cords can be formed into letters and stapled to a panel in order to create a simple sign.

The cords can be cut with a BLADE or with one of the somewhat more powerful SHEARS. Knots made in the cord will tend to loosen a lot less if they are melted slightly with a flame.

This sheathed rubber stretch cord with light reflecting threads can be used as, among other things, a drawstring on a hood or the waistband of a jacket or on leg and waist bands on sports clothing. The ends of the cord can be simply tied into knots over which you can slide a CORD END (cap). A CORD LOCK is the correct means for securing pull cords or the like.

For climbing it goes by the name mountaineering rope, for sailing its called trimming rope – in both cases we are talking about a tightly braided cord that is about 4 or 6 mm thick and designed for safety and tying purposes. This type of rope can be expected to knot well and to come in beautiful colours – you can use it for work, for binding, for handicrafts (use your imagination!).

The braided round cord is the right addition to any drawstring. Whether on the hood of the hoodie, in the waistband of the pants or as a closure of a self-sewn bag - the tapes convince as practical extras.

Since the cord is made of pure cotton, you can wash it at up to 30 ° C, iron and dry clean. However, it is not suitable for tumble drying.

If the common belts made out of polyester, polyamid or polypropylene do not appeal satisfy your tastes when looking for a belt then this one might be the answer. It has a whole other feel, namely rougher and more "material"-like and seems more like a natural fibre belt including the absence of the typical synthetic fibre shininess. The belt´s´strength is the result of multifil yarn being strung into it lengthwise, which serves to stop it stretching in that direction. It is also not impregnated and can be coloured using textile dye.

Seat belt webbing – upon reading that name you know exactly what is being talked about: a black, glossy, very smooth-feeling strap with two black strips of different types of weave that can be made out when the light is right. The name, however, should only be taken as an aid to visualising the kind of belt for sale because our polyester strap, in contrast to a real safety belt found in the automotive sector, has not undergone any safety testing (TÜV, in Germany). In a nod to Magritte and in the name of safety, we must here state that “This is not a seat belt webbing”! This great looking and nonetheless particularly sturdy belt should only be used on bags, as a guitar belt or as the back of your self-made dining chair, to name only a few uses - but NOT as a safety harness!

It is best to stitch up the ends or use rivets – gluing is not recommended because of the type of material as well as the probable shear weakness at the bonding point.

This webbed belt doesn’t just shine in UV light – the really bright neon yellow colour “shoots into your eye” even in daylight. The belt is made from fine yarn, is finely woven and, like the SEAT BELT in a car, feels soft and smooth to the touch. In addition, it is very a very strong belt, which makes it suitable for making an especially noticeable clamp belt by adding a CLAMP FOR LASHING STRAPS. You can also use it in combination with various BUCKLES as a carrying handle, a strap or belt for clothing, bags or backpacks.

The belt is usually used as a lashing strap (hence, the name): on one end a ratchet device or a LASHING CLAMP can be attached in order to use it to bundle up loose items to prepare them for shipping or transporting. The strap itself has a nice soft feel to it and is colourful to boot and these attributes suggest that it could be used for other purposes.

For use with BUCKLES or end pieces, the ends should be sewn or, alternatively, rivets can be used for affix ends that are folded over. Gluing is not recommended because such a bond will not hold up when stressed.

Bead chains are not only good for attaching catalogues or pens to a particular spot but also for putting together or hanging sample fans or signs. The chain can be easily cut with a shears or scissors.  The clamp fasteners are squeezed around the beads and can be easily opened when you want.

The flexible meshes made out of aluminium, galvanized wire and copper wire or stainless steel wire are only woven and therefore can be freely formed into three-dimensional shapes. Custom cutting of these meshes faces the danger of the borders fraying and the loss of its cohesion – a danger, however, that decreases as the delicacy of the mesh increases.

Aluminium adhesive strips are primarily used as a baffle or insulation. It can, however, be well used as a decorative material or for handicraft work.

This relatively coarse bookbinding fabric in rustic colours is primarily used for large books like, for example, illustrated books. It can be blind tooled, hot-film stamped and screen printed. Gluing work can be done with bone glue or a synthetic glue like PLANATOL. In addition to its use in the bookbinding field, this material can also be used for other creative endeavors like, for example, stretch wall panels.

Books have traditionally been made up of two separately produced elements: the book block and the book cover, both of which must essentially be solidly bound to one another. Book gauze - a wide mesh glaze reinforced cotton - serves to reinforce a book’s spine, to make a bond to a book’s cover, to strengthen the fold or to hold the book block firmly in place by a kind of clamping effect.

In the case of coated book gauze, the added paper backing prevents the glue from bleeding through to the visible side. Coated gauze is markedly stiffer than the uncoated version and serves, when applied to the back, to stabilize even very thick and heavy book blocks. The specification “single-thread” or “double-thread’” refers to the number of warp threads – when 2, they will lie tightly next to one another. The more warp threads there are in a cloth, the denser and hard-wearing it will be. This naturally coloured gauze is also great for creative uses because of its interesting appearance and low price.

Molleton is a dense linen-weave cotton fabric that is raised on both sides. It is normally used for such things as pads or ironing board covers or bed sheets. The decorative version is comparatively lighter and primarily used as a wall covering material, for stage sets and for decorative applications. In order to cover larger areas, multiple panels of the fabric can be taped together at the back with GAFFER TAPE – with this method you can make, for example, a large black backdrop for photo or video shoots. When delivered, the material is folded in half - meaning that it is folded lengthwise to half of its width and then wound together. The colours of different fabric rolls can vary, as is usual with such products.

We have taken a good look at many fabrics with glitter but we have never before included them in our product range because they never satisfied our qualitative or aesthetic criteria. The fabric we are now offering not only looks great but is also so well made that it loses very little glitter when being handled. The dense cotton carrier material is covered on one side with so much of the finest polyester glitter that it almost seems like a solid piece of glittering foil.

Glamorous shine with a soft and stunning cascading effect, elastic: these attributes predestined this metallic jersey’s use for making loosely cascading and pleasantly conspicuous evening dresses – but shirts and leggings, glamorous Mardi Gras costumes or “performance” attire are further possibilities! But just on its own, it can serve as a great decoration fabric if you are looking for a metallic shine.

This fine-mesh fabric is especially elastic crosswise and the “metallic” coated front of the fabric has the same colour on the reverse side but there it is matte.

A jersey needle is the best implement for sewing jersey (logic at its best!) - its blunt point will not harm the mesh structure of the fabric. In order to prevent the tearing of a seam upon stretching, we recommend that you use a zigzag or triple stitch or, alternatively, to work on an overlock machine. The cut edges fray only a negligible amount, which makes it possible to work with jersey without selvedge.

Care tip:

• The manufacturer recommends that this jersey never be washed, neither by hand or machine. It should also never be ironed. Dry cleaning is the only option.

Gunny (burlap) is a very economically priced and relatively tear-proof fabric which is made from the bast fibres of the jute plant and which was primarily used for making sacks until the invention of high-strength PP fibres tended to replace it. Jute comes mainly from the sub-continent (Pakistan, India ...). The gunny that we have on offer is a light-weight version which is most often used for decoration work, for example, as a covering of surface areas.

Gunny is a relatively loose fabric in a linen weave made from unwashed jute yarn. It is also referred to as burlap because it is very often used to make sacks for farm products like grains, rice, coffee beans, etc. When bleached or coloured this very reasonably priced material is also used as a wall covering or in the making of decorations or costumes; unbleached it is used in upholstery and as the backing for rugs.

Jute is a bast fibre which comes from the stems of the corchorus plant which grows mainly in Asia because of the tropical climatic conditions there. It has an elasticity and extensibility comparable to linen but is not very strong because of the high percentage of wood it contains. By virtue of being a natural fibre it is completely bio-degradable.

As a real classic among deco materials deco-tulle has never had to play second fiddle to any passing fad. No other material is able to nonchalantly bedazzle a room quite like this “filigree textile”. Deco-tulle is delivered folded in half, that is, folded lengthwise before being wound together.

The only difference between the soft-PVC strip sheets and the shuttle-door panels is the sharp even edges on the latter. They are primarily used where larger areas need to be serviced. Because of its width, the shuttle-door panel can be used as a table covering that can be wiped off and under which notes and papers (e.g. menus) can be placed and always seen.

The colourless version that we have on offer has, by way of identifying it (i.e. upon closer inspection and in comparison to the slightly yellowish “neutral” version) a light bluish hue which is especially noticeable around the edges.

These foam rubber rectangular strips are made from EPDM caoutchouc, which is a lightweight, highly elastic synthetic rubber. The core of this material is porous like a sponge, has an open-celled structure and a cell-free, smooth and closed outer skin (it is this property that distinguished “real” foam rubber from the “phony” knock-offs), The outstanding features of foam rubber include a high degree of UV resistance, weather resistance, temperature resistance from about –30 to about 110 °C and, last but not least, it is waterproof.

The classic use of foam rubber is to process it into cords and profiles for sealing purposes or for vibration or sound insulation applications in the automobile and electronics industries. In other cases, it can be used as a versatile decoration material and/or advantage can be taken of the high degree of frictional resistance of its surface in other applications (walkways, etc.).

We offer our sealing strips in a group that includes both the foam rubber and cellular rubber versions. Why? Because the basic raw material is the same, their adhesive and material properties are very similar and their fields of application are almost identical as well. There are, of course, differences in their physical dimensions and, most noticeably, in their surfaces; i.e. that of foam rubber is smooth and closed and that of cellular rubber is open-celled (only on the surface!). The frictional resistance of foam rubber in relation to most materials is therefore much higher: if you need a foam rubber adhesive strip that has anti-slip characteristics, standard foam rubber should be your choice.

This wiry mat was originally developed for use as protection against erosion when used in conjunction with plants on embankments, river banks, ditches or canals. As a synthetic root system, it is also suitable for use in planting roofs and has been used in the middle strip of freeways to secure the plants. The three-dimensional structure consists of so-called “monofilaments” – i.e. individual fibres which are laid one upon the other in a fairly random manner and fused together where they cross. For the production of the fibres, no metal is used but rather a thermoplastic polyamide (PA 6) which can melt for purpose of permanently fusing the cross points.

For designers and interior architects these mats are primarily interesting as decoration material. They can also be creatively used in the field of lighting construction. In such cases the structure of the mat can be easily cut to the required shape with a sharp scissors. The fact that the underside has a flat and closed structure means that the mat is easy to attach to other types of materials.

Attributes: 110 tiny plastic hooks per square centimetre provide an incredible adhesive strength for this version of the hook and loop fastener. In contrast to hook and loop fasteners with hook and eye sides, the Dual Lock is made up of only one tape that sticks to itself. When bound together the tape is about 2 mm thick. It is equipped with a modified acrylate type self-adhesive, has a very high initial adhesive strength and will stick to PE and PP plastics.

Applications: The classic areas of use for this pressure-sensitive fastener, which comes in different versions, include: removable affixing of panelling both indoors and in autos, attaching heavy presentation boards at trade shows as well as all other instances where removable constructive attachments of two-dimensional materials are required.

This fabric is basically a lightweight standard netting. It is most often found being used as the moisture transporting inner lining on functional (sports) jackets and for making bags and airy sports jerseys. But the possibilities are endless – a plethora of things can be made out of this fabric, just use your imagination! Examples: open-air shoe bags, storage net for stuffed animals, outfits for the next costume party. You get the picture!

The actual use of polyethylene net tubing is as protective packaging for sensitive and irregularly shaped goods like, for example, ball bearings or exotic fruits. The net tubing is great at taking on the shape of the product to be packaged and thereby is able to protect it from damage.

In our opinion, however, this material has a lot more potential uses. This fixed mesh material, by virtue of its structure which is similar to that of expanded metal, can be expanded to a high degree. The different colours serve to identify the various sizes.
