Polystyrene is a good and cheap addition or alternative to classic acrylic glass. The material offers you high transparency, it is lighter and softer. You do not need a special tool to cut it. A standard cutter is sufficient for cutting polystyrene. If you want to get smooth edges, play it safe with a circular saw.

The sheets are strong and have good chemical resistance. They are UV stabilized, but not UV stable. This means you can use them without restrictions for glazing such as frames, signs or shower enclosures indoors. However, outdoors they will yellow over time.
