The circular, corrugated polystyrene mirror panels feature a slightly raised embossed pattern consisting of concentric circular structures. As a result, the surface is not flat: incident light is reflected differently by the radial embossing. This creates a dynamic optical effect similar to that seen on the surface of water when large raindrops fall on it. The panels are therefore particularly well-suited for decorative surfaces where, in addition to color and reflection, a three-dimensional texture is desired. With these panels, you’re sure to create an eye-catching feature—use them, for example, for wall designs, furniture fronts, displays, and in retail and trade show construction.
In the iridescent versions, two optical effects reinforce each other: The surface changes its color appearance depending on the angle of the incident light and the viewing direction, while the circular embossing becomes perceptible in three dimensions due to the varying reflections and colors. In the silver version, on the other hand, the metallic, mirror-like effect of the circular relief pattern takes center stage. It thus appears significantly cooler and more uniform.
The panels are excellent for machining and generally do not chip when cut with a hand saw or circular saw. Drilling with metal drill bits and wood drill bits can also usually be done without any problems. However, it is always advisable to conduct preliminary tests. With our machines, however, we have had nothing but positive experiences.
The back of the panel—even if it’s “just” the black backing material that’s visible—has its own unique charm. There, the radial waves are no longer waves but sharply defined circles created by the tool used to shape the panels. Depending on your taste, positioning, or project, the back side can remain visible or be used exclusively.
