The mirrored polystyrene panel combines a directional, regularly patterned wave structure with a highly reflective surface: parallel ridges and grooves divide the surface into uniform bands. Incident light is reflected differently depending on the viewing angle. Unlike a smooth mirror panel, it does not produce a calm mirror image, but rather a wavy surface whose effect changes depending on location, lighting, and viewing angle. The structure is suitable, for example, for decorations, displays, wall surfaces, or backdrops where the distorted reflection is used as a design element.
The sheet consists of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) with a PET surface coating. The sheets are excellent for machining and generally do not splinter when cut with a hand saw or circular saw. Drilling with metal drill bits and wood drill bits is also usually possible without any problems. However, it is always recommended to conduct preliminary tests. We have had nothing but positive experiences with our machines, though.
When caring for and cleaning the sheets, please make sure not to use abrasive cleaners or alcohol. In addition, cleaning cloths should be soft and free of dust and dirt. For cleaning, it’s best to spray a standard plastic cleaner onto a cloth (not directly onto the material) and wipe the surface with it.
