KK Polyester Glass Fiber Filler V-11 VT is a two-component, glass fiber-reinforced polyester-based filler and adhesive compound developed for structural repairs and highly stressed fillings in fiber-reinforced plastic components (such as GRP) and on wood. The compound consists of a thixotropic, highly reactive repair resin into which finely dispersed glass fibers are mixed. As a result, V-11 VT achieves a significantly higher strength compared to conventional fillers without fiber reinforcement and is particularly suitable where mechanical strength is required.
The compound hardens quickly and exhibits only low linear shrinkage, which enables smooth, dimensionally stable results and keeps reworked surfaces stable. V-11 VT can be used as a filler, repair and bonding material - e.g. for filling break-outs or cracks, for mounting wooden strips on GRP substrates or for structurally bonding different materials.
Before application, topcoat layers and paint residues should be sanded or removed down to the laminate so that the filler achieves optimum adhesion. Due to its pasty consistency, the filler can be easily applied with a spatula and brush, even in layers several millimeters thick. After hardening, the surface tends to remain slightly tacky and should be reworked with a suitable fine or finishing filler or a topcoat for finishing or painting.
