That the tubular steel chair 118 would develop into a design classic, Rudolf Kleinkopf certainly had no idea in 1949 when he created the Model 118 in his small carpenter's workshop in southern Germany. Today, the furniture company manufactures the sleek, elegant 118 as a long-legged counter chair in a very contemporary way: as a "high seat" in office meeting areas, in the tea kitchen and break room, at reception, or as a bar stool with a backrest for the kitchen counter at home.

With its high-quality tubular steel frame and the separate seat and back shell, the counter chair 118 combines a filigree appearance with down-to-earth stability. The seat and back shell made of 8 mm beech wood are discreetly ergonomically shaped and prove to be noticeably comfortable even when sitting for a long time.
