Weicon P 500 is a wax-based release agent that has been specially developed for demolding synthetic resins on rough or porous surfaces. The focus is on applications with epoxy resins and polyurethanes, especially where conventional liquid release agents sink into porous material or adhere unevenly. Due to its paste-like consistency, P 500 forms a thin wax film layer that reduces the adhesion of the resin and enables controlled, reproducible demolding.
The product is particularly suitable for molds or workpieces with rough, textured or porous material, e.g. concrete casting molds, sand molds, porous silicones or metal molds with a textured surface.
Surface preparation
The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and free of grease. Remove residues such as oil, dust or release agent residues beforehand.
Application
Apply P 500 using a wool wiper, spatula, brush or lint-free cloth. Spread the product evenly and polish lightly to achieve a thin, even film layer. A second coat may be necessary for new molds or very absorbent surfaces. Excess wax or residues can be removed after drying.
