This saw blade is the right replacement blade for your Japanese handsaw 230 and can be changed without tools: You loosen the clamping device on the saw, remove the old blade and insert the new one without any additional tools. This allows you to restore the original cutting performance of your saw in just a few simple steps.
Like the saw itself, the blade cuts in a pull cut. When sawing, the load is applied when you pull the saw towards you. This allows the blade to be thinner than with pressure-loaded saws without warping. This results in precise, controlled cuts with comparatively little effort. The fine toothing with 16 teeth per inch is designed for clean fine cuts and significantly reduces tears at the cutting edge.
The SK 95 spring steel used is hardened using a special Japanese heat treatment process. Triple-ground teeth and impulse hardening are used, which increases the service life and keeps the sharpness stable over many cuts. At the same time, the blade remains elastic enough to absorb slight bends during use without becoming permanently deformed.
With a blade length of 230 mm, the saw blade remains compact. You can easily reach tight spaces in interior fittings or furniture construction and still have sufficient cutting depth. The replacement blade is used wherever the handsaw itself is recommended: for woodwork in interior fittings, when sawing skirting boards, profiles, chipboard or plasterboard and when cutting knots and other wood cross-sections to length.
