This is the standard upholstery foam most commonly used. A majority of upholstery applications are covered by the 35/55 grade. It is suitable for all upholstery that receives normal wear, from fabric-covered seat cushions to neck wedges.
Lighter foams tear more quickly, are less resilient, and are more likely to be used for short-term, light-duty use. Foams with a density above 35, for example composite foam, can be used for upholstery that needs to be a little thinner, is particularly durable and is subject to heavy use.
