The pocket knife No. 08 has been one of the most popular models of the Opinel brand for more than 130 years. Inspired by a Turkish saber, its 8.5 cm Yatagan blade is made of martensitic stainless steel. This material is corrosion resistant and resilient. Even with regular use of the pocket knife, the cutting edge remains sharp. Only prolonged contact with acid or salt water will push the blade to its limits.
When the knife is in use, the Virobloc ring, which consists of a fixed and a movable part, ensures that the unfolded blade does not fold in unintentionally. It also locks the cutting edge when it is inside the hilt.
The handle of the knife is made of French hornbeam wood. It is lacquered to protect it from moisture and dirt.
Practical: The pocket knife is equipped with a leather cord. You can easily attach the model to a belt or a carabiner.
