The Opinel children's knife set My first Opinel helps children to learn how to use cutting tools safely under supervision. The design and function of the set is based on the classic Opinel pocket knives, but the construction and accessories are tailored to the needs of younger users. The aim is to teach basic cutting techniques and the responsible use of tools.
The core component of the set is a children's pocket knife with a stainless steel blade with a rounded tip. This shape reduces the risk of injury without restricting the basic cutting function. The blade is suitable for simple cutting work, such as carving soft woods, preparing small dishes or for light craft and outdoor activities. In terms of sharpness, the blade is no different from other Opinel knives: it cuts very well.
The handle is made of wood and is ergonomically shaped so that it can also be held securely by smaller hands. The surface has a smooth finish and offers stable, controllable handling. As with the classic models, the knife is equipped with the Virobloc® locking ring. This allows the blade to be locked in both the open and closed position, providing safety during use and transportation. The knife is complemented by a practical belt pouch made from recycled PET with a leather strap made from leather remnants from leather factories.
