The soft, satin-matte surface gives the coated Lefa the appearance of very smooth, fine leather. It can be processed in exactly the same way as uncoated Lefa—sewn, riveted, glued, punched, or embossed. Since the material is very thick at approximately 2 mm, fine creases or edges are not feasible; it should therefore be used primarily for coarser or larger projects. It can be used for book covers, bags, cases, as well as folders and belts. With its flexible yet firm surface, it also makes for a very comfortable writing surface; however, the ink may indent the coating if too much pressure is applied.
