Collall Kintsugi adhesive is a ready-to-use, gold-colored special adhesive for repairs to ceramics, porcelain and stoneware using the Japanese Kintsugi technique. With this repair method, broken areas are not concealed but deliberately highlighted. The adhesive permanently bonds the individual parts together and remains clearly visible after curing, so that the crack lines remain as a gold-colored trace.
The adhesive is based on an acrylic formulation; the solvent it contains is water. It can therefore be processed and cleaned with water when wet. Its viscous consistency ensures that the adhesive does not run during application and can be applied precisely along the break edges. Once the parts have been joined together, the adhesive adheres quickly and hardens completely within around 24 hours. During drying, the material does not sag, creating a slightly raised effect along the repair lines.
Collall Kintsugi adhesive is supplied ready to use and does not need to be mixed or blended with pigments: It is already gold-colored. This makes it easier to use, especially if you are working on repairs using the Kintsugi principle for the first time. The adhesive is suitable for decorative repairs to broken objects where the visible bond is part of the design. The use of the adhesive should be limited to decorative objects and objects subject to little stress. The cured adhesive bonds are neither dishwasher-safe nor suitable for contact with food.
