Keramiplast is a ready-to-use modeling clay made from kaolin (porcelain clay), barite (BaSO₄), cellulose, fibers, high-quality adhesives (binders), and water, which cures irreversibly when exposed to air through the evaporation of the water it contains.
This odorless, very pliable material is ideal for all kinds of modeling work, as it can be worked just as easily as fine clay: After taking the required amount, Keramiplast is briefly kneaded with moistened hands and then shaped. Keramiplast adheres to almost all materials. For tall structures, a wire mesh framework should be incorporated. Individually crafted or broken-off parts can be bonded by moistening the joints with a small amount of damp material. Any cracks that form should also be sealed in this manner. As it dries, Keramiplast shrinks by about 5% and has a very fine surface after curing. Once cured, the material can be easily sanded, drilled, sawed, and painted with poster paints, acrylic paints, or varnishes.
When used as intended, Keramiplast is not harmful to health; however, it is not suitable for children under three years of age. Keramiplast is not only suitable as a modeling clay for children but is also used to create simple scale models in architectural and design modeling or for sculptural studies in sculpture.
