| Edge | 25 ° bevel edge, ground and oiled |
Our most durable table-top with an indestructible coating made of high-density and solid-colored HPL laminate: the non-porous, silky-matte surface is pleasant to the touch, but above all it is easy to care for, dirt, water and scratch resistant, as well as impact and shock resistant. For you, this means that the round HPL tabletop is not only a solid tabletop for meeting tables in the office, but also bravely endures everyday use as a dining tabletop with spilled liquids, tinkering children, and wild dice games.
Light look
For all its practicality, the plain white table-top with its striped multiplex core and beveled edge looks light and elegant. The beveled edge at an angle of 25° makes the tabletop appear considerably thinner, almost floating, despite its stability, because only approx. 8 mm of material remains as a visible edge.
Matching table frame
The "floating effect" is most pronounced in combination with our Y table frames, in which the table frame is offset inwards and therefore not visible at first glance. Delicate, strongly inclined tubular steel legs from the Y series fit just as well with the round HPL table-top from 1 m in diameter as somewhat stronger solid wood legs, which you can also choose for the Y table frame. For good flatness, we advise you to always screw the 19 mm thick plate to the table frame.
HPL - durable and easy to care for
HPL (High Pressure Laminate) consists of cellulose fiber sheets impregnated with phenolic resin and a top layer of color-imparting cellulose fiber sheets impregnated with melamine resin. At high temperatures, these are pressed under high pressure to form a dense laminate and then for our table tops with the multiplex top. This process creates the extremely resistant, scratch-resistant and easy-care surface of the table top. The closed, non-porous surface is easy to clean and does not form a breeding ground for microorganisms.
Cleaning and care
It is best to clean the surface of the HPL table top with a damp cloth and gentle cleaning agents. Although the closed surface is very resistant and scratch-resistant, certain cleaning utensils should not come into contact with it. Scratching sponges, pot cleaners and comparable all-rounders leave clear traces and may attack the surface of the HPL table top.
Good to know
The cut edges of a birch multiplex plywood panel can never show a flawless stripe view due to production. In the manufacture of the plywood panel, several layers of birch veneer are glued crosswise on top of each other. There are always small overlaps or gaps between the veneer sheets that are placed against each other, which can be reflected in the cut edge of your table top. Our carpenter closes small holes with suitable wood putty so that no moisture can penetrate into the panel at the relevant points.
