Like its analog colleague, the electronic digital caliper measures material thicknesses, outside and inside diameters, or hole depths. Its advantage lies, above all, in the more comfortable readability of the measurement result and the time savings if you have to measure things precisely often. Because instead of deciphering the measurements on a tiny millimeter scale, you simply read the result as a number on the display. The free choice of the zero calibration on the scale is practical - this makes it easier for you, for example, to measure drilling distances.
If you frequently work in environments where the caliper is exposed to a lot of dust, water, or oils, the analog caliper may be the better choice for you.
