The Deli safety knife is ideal for cutting paper, cardboard, plastic film, and other sturdier materials. Its unique feature is the automatic blade retraction: when you release the blade slider, the blade retracts back into the housing. This ensures the blade doesn’t remain unnecessarily exposed after you’ve finished cutting. This is especially helpful if you frequently open packages, cut cardboard to size, or use the utility knife at different workstations in a workshop, warehouse, or shipping area.
The replaceable, 19-mm-wide trapezoidal blade is made of blackened SK2 steel. This blade steel features high hardness, good toughness, and excellent durability (stays sharp for a long time). These positive characteristics are offset by low corrosion resistance. Therefore, you should oil the blade if you want to keep it rust-free. The wide blade shape provides a stable cutting edge and allows for controlled guidance, even when cutting tougher materials. This allows you to cut cardboard, paper, or plastic film, for example. If the blade becomes dull or damaged, it can be replaced. A trapezoidal blade is included with the cutter.
The housing is made of ABS plastic, keeping the cutter’s weight low at around 40 g. With dimensions of 13.5 × 3 × 1.8 cm, the knife remains compact and can be easily stored both at a fixed workstation and while on the go.
