The serving spoon carving blank is made from untreated lime wood and serves as the basis for making a hand-carved serving spoon that can be used in the kitchen. It is pre-formed into a rough spoon contour, which you can further refine by carving and removing material and then smoothing the surface. The soft lime wood can be cut in a controlled manner and is suitable for both rough carving and finer details during finishing. This makes this blank equally suitable for beginners and experienced woodcarvers.
You can then finish the carved spoon with wood oil, varnish or other surface treatments to adapt it to your functional or design requirements. The complete processing with traditional carving tools such as carving knives, gouges or sandpaper gives you a functional object with an individual shape. The blank is deliberately made without detailed carving marks or lines so that you have a free hand when designing the serving spoon. It serves as a learning object to practise carving techniques and at the same time produce a practical kitchen or serving utensil.
