The lime wood carving blank is the ideal starting material for smaller figurative carving projects. The blank is intended for beginners and practice work as well as for small figures. Lime wood is one of the most commonly used types of wood in wood carving. It is characterized by a very fine, homogeneous structure and low hardness. These properties enable controlled cuts with little effort and low risk of tearing. This makes the carving blank particularly suitable for learning basic techniques such as contour, notch and shaped cuts as well as for projects where clean transitions and even surfaces need to be created.
The blank is made of solid lime wood and is untreated. After carving, you can sand, oil, wax or color the surface. The light, even coloring of the lime wood is well suited as a base for painting or staining. The wood is carefully selected and is free from rough defects such as knotholes or cracks. This makes it easier to plan the motif and ensures consistent results when working in series.
