The BeaverCraft gouge with straight blade is a hand-held carving tool for the controlled processing of wooden surfaces and flat to slightly recessed shapes. It is suitable for removing material, smoothing surfaces and the targeted finishing of contours, transitions and ornaments. All three variants are designed as compact, straight gouges and are intended for use without a gullet.
The models differ in their blade profile and therefore in their respective application:
- Blade width 2 mm (3021379) has a V-profile and is used for precise lines, notches and geometric shapes.
- Blade width 8 mm (3021380) is quite strongly rounded and is suitable for more intensive shaping and carving out clear hollows or curves.
- Blade width 12 mm (3021381) offers a flat rounded profile for even removal work and smooth transitions.
All gouges are equipped with a straight blade, making them particularly suitable for working on flat surfaces or in clearly defined areas. The compact design enables direct power transmission from the hand and supports controlled work, even with finer cuts.
The blades are made of hardened carbon steel, which is supplied pre-sharpened and enables clean cuts. The ash wood handle is ergonomically shaped and oiled so that it sits securely in the hand and can be guided stably even during longer work steps. The tools are suitable for soft and hard woods and are intended for basic carving work as well as for specific finishing work. As the blade is made of carbon steel, it is important to protect it from moisture. Always store the blade in a dry place after use. Regular oiling or wiping after use prevents corrosion.
