The BeaverCraft chip carving knives are specialized wood carving tools for chip carving - a technique in which small pieces of wood are systematically carved out of the wood in geometric patterns, lines or ornaments. The knives are characterized by precise, short and sharp blades made of high-carbon steel, which, in combination with ergonomic wooden handles, enable a high degree of control and accuracy in filigree carving work.
BeaverCraft manufactures all carving knives in Ukraine, using high quality materials to create precise, classic and functional tools. The blades are hardened, carefully sharpened and deliver reliable cutting performance - ideal for detailed patterns, geometric elements and finely crafted contours in soft to medium-hard woods.
The blades are suitable for finely carving out structures from surfaces, rather than for roughing work or coarse material removal. They show their strengths in controlled, repeatable cuts with minimal material removal and clean edges.
As the blades are made of high-carbon steel, they begin to rust on contact with moisture. Therefore, store them dry after use and oil them from time to time to prevent corrosion. Regular re-sharpening with whetstones or honing tools ensures consistently precise cuts and extends the life of the knife.
