The SILHOUETTE CAMEO 4 cutting plotter enables you to implement your creative ideas even better with a host of new functions.

These are the new features:

Higher cutting power and passage height of 3 mm: With a whopping 5 kg of contact pressure, the new Kraft Blade (accessories, not included) also cuts thicker and firmer materials such as gray cardboard and stronger plastic films, as well as balsa wood, foam rubber, thick leather and felt.

Good news for sewing: With the new roller knife (accessories, not included) you can now cut fabrics cleanly and without distortion.

Cameo 4 automatically recognizes the tool used and the adapter. This saves you time and avoids errors, because you no longer have to feed the software manually with the info.

Integrated reel seat: You no longer have to attach the reel seat separately, but simply pull it out of the housing. Then you can plot adhesive film by the meter and finally cut the material to length with the integrated cross cutter.

More speed: With the left tool head you cut and draw 3 times faster than before. This will take less of your patience!

Adapter: With the 4 included adapters you can continue to use tools from the previous model (except the SIL knife).

Proven features that have stayed:

Before cutting, the automatic knife automatically takes on the value that you previously set in the Silhouette Studio software.

With the two tool heads you can e.g. cut and draw in one go without having to change tools (pen or knife).

Print & Cut Technology: The Cameo cutting plotter has a built-in optical sensor to read registration marks. In the Silhouette Studio you can create these registration marks and then print them out. The optical sensor finds the registration marks on your printed motif and the SILHOUETTE CAMEO cuts the contours razor-sharp. This is useful, for example, if you want to design individual stickers, labels or textile transfer designs.

The PixScan technology enables you, with the help of a camera or a scanner, to cut the exact contour of a printed design or to place desired cutting lines on the material. Your smartphone or tablet is also ideal for this. The PixScan algorithm enables the SILHOUETTE CAMEO 4 to recognize specially placed registration marks on the PixScan cutting mat. The technology is ideal for storing scanned or photographed motifs in your personal digital library or for converting a hand sketch into a new, custom cutting file.

The included Silhouette Studio software is the most powerful design software for hobby cutting systems on the market, and offers you functions that are normally only found in high-end design software. Silhouette Studio offers a range of functions for entering text, drawing shapes, importing images and creating outlines, which of course cannot be compared with the possibilities of professional programs such as Illustrator or Corel Draw. You have the following options to expand your options: On the one hand, the Silhouette Studio software can be expanded to a "Designer" or "Designer plus" or "Business Edition" - there are separate upgrades for this. On the other hand, you can install a plug-in for Windows that enables you to control the cutting plotter directly from the programs Illustrator and Corel Draw.

Application

The SILHOUETTE CAMEO 4 can draw paths, cut them precisely and perforate them. You can also combine these work steps so that a completely cut shape can include drawn, perforated and cut elements. This results in a variety of fields of application in the areas of handicrafts, model making, packaging design and prototyping, for example:

Stencils, foil lettering, window-rich facades in architectural model making, silhouette figures made of cardboard, templates for textile transfer (flocking), ready-made craft sheets (over 200 templates, especially for handicrafts with children, can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet), fabric applications , wall decals.

You can process these materials with the Cameo 4: paper, photo cardboard, gray cardboard, plastic film, iron-on film, vinyl adhesive film, veneer (e.g. our Decoflex), fabrics, leather, foam rubber, felt.

Please note that materials without backing material, or smaller pieces of material that are not caught by the roll transport, must be applied to the cutting surface with the slightly adhesive surface (make sure to carry out preliminary tests with thin, sensitive materials!) For materials with backing, such as self-adhesive films, this is not necessary. The pad wears out over time and you should replace it after a certain time: Silhouette Cameo cutting mat.

A little bit of a downer: CAMEO 4 is not silent and makes clear work noises. You should consider this if you want to set up the cutter in the open-plan office.
