Our X-Table, winner of the Red Dot Award “Best of the Best,” is now also available in a version for children and teens that grows with them, as a complete table (including tabletop). The Modulor X table for children is height-adjustable in five settings, ranging from 540 mm (including tabletop) for children around 6 years old to 740 mm (including tabletop) for teenagers or adults. The tabletop can either be placed on non-slip rubber pads or securely screwed to the frame. The necessary tabletop connectors and screws are included in the package.
The table is secured at the various heights using spring-loaded snap buttons in holes in the tubes, similar to those found in other telescoping tubes—such as on some vacuum cleaners. You press the button from the outside “into the tube,” so to speak, and at the same time slide the nested tubes against each other (out or in), and when you reach the next hole, the spring-loaded button snaps back out. In the case of the X children’s table frame, this mechanism also prevents the height adjusters from falling out of the side panels. The height adjusters are located at the bottom of the tubes. This has the advantage that the crossbar (“X”) doesn’t get in the way of the growing user when they stretch out their legs, because as the table is raised, the legroom also increases. Just like its larger counterpart, the crossbar on the children’s table can be mounted either centered or offset, so that smaller children can also sit across from each other at the table.
We offer the set—consisting of a table frame and tabletop—in various colors and with different edge banding options. For the frame, you can choose from six colors; for the tabletops, you can choose from five options. If you’d like more freedom in your color choices or need a different tabletop size, visit our tabletop configurator for melamine tabletops or for linoleum tabletops. There, you can customize tabletops to your liking in terms of dimensions, color, and edge banding options. We also offer the X children’s table frame individually (without a tabletop) in the six colors.
