The Masters brush cleaner is a soap-like paste in a can for cleaning and preserving brushes with natural hair, bristle and synthetic bodies. It gently and reliably removes acrylic, oil and watercolour paints even if they have have dried out and hardened within the bristles. When used regularly, The Masters will preserve the elasticity and suppleness of the brush body and therey increase its service life.

Application: before cleaning begins, the brush must be stroked over a cloth in order to remove any remaining paint. The brush should then be moistened with water and then rubbed against the hard cake paste to form a lather and the rubbing should continue for a short period to give it time to do its work. The lather is then simply rinsed out. This procedure should be repeated until all the paint residue is gone. During the rubbing step it is important to be sure to remove all the paint and pigment that has gathered around the ferrule. Finally, the brush´s bristles should be pulled out to their original shape with your thumb and forefinder, making an extra effort to "sharpen" the point if the brush is of that style. It is not important to thoroughly rinse out all the soapy cleaning material - quite the contrary, actually, because it acts as a preserver!

In the case of hardened oil and acrylic paint, the brush head should be thoroughly rinsed in hot water before beginning the process of rubbing the bristles on the soapy cake, a step that should be done for an adequate amount of time. After that, it should be rinsed out. Again, this process must be repeated until all the dried up and hardened paint residue is eventually removed. And again again, don´t forget to leave a little of the soapy mixture in the bristles after the final rinse for preservation purposes.
