A versatile system in two ways: Since table frames and legs are “only” screwed together, sturdy tables can be quickly assembled, disassembled, and stored in a space-saving manner in stores, at trade shows, in the studio, and at home. Furthermore—and most importantly—the wide range of frame lengths allows for the construction of tables in special sizes—particularly large or small, square and rectangular, as well as those with less common aspect ratios.
Which frames fit which tabletop?
The specified length l does not indicate the frame length, but rather the length of the tabletop that is suitable for these frames. Frames for l = 400 mm are suitable for tabletops with a width (or length) of 400 mm. The actual frame length is 70 mm shorter.
The length l consists of the frame length plus the two table legs at each corner plus an additional 10 mm. These remaining 10 mm ensure that the tabletop extends 5 mm beyond each side of the table.
For example: The frames for l = 400 mm are suitable for tabletops with a width (or length) of 400 mm. The frame pieces themselves are 330 mm long. The 70 mm difference is distributed between the width of the table legs and the 5 mm overhang of the tabletop on each corresponding side of the table.
The Material
The components are made of thick-walled steel profiles and feature a durable powder coating. The table legs are 730 or 430 millimeters high, so that a 20-millimeter-thick tabletop results in a standard height of 750 or 450 millimeters.
Please note that a low table can also be used as a bench. This allows you to create functional bench-table combinations (maximum load approx. 100 kg), which, however, are not suitable for outdoor use.
The frames, stylish and understated as they are, can be combined with many different tabletops and materials. Any type of tabletop is suitable, ranging from black MDF to a finished tabletop with beech wood edging to birch plywood, whether coated or uncoated. However, significantly thinner tops can also be screwed on or secured with the Dual-Lock snap-on fastener, as the support on all four sides reduces the top’s tendency to sag in the middle. When choosing the tabletop size, consider whether the tabletop should extend beyond the sides or be flush with the frame; after all, this table frame allows for both options.
The included anti-rotation rings are special washers that are used with the screws in the corner connectors. They prevent the screws from loosening and thus contribute significantly to the table’s long-term stability.
Each frame has two or three vertical holes (6 mm in diameter) for screwing the tabletop in place (min. 18 mm)—12 screws are included for this purpose.
