How could an exclusive family of chairs, designed specifically for Modulor, convey the colorful and multifaceted world of Modulor? Daniele Ferrazzane of Studio DLF has found a compelling answer: a chair that not only integrates beautifully into the Modulor universe but also embodies its principles and brings them to life. He has, so to speak, created an ambassador.
The chair is made of a 3-layer spruce panel and is assembled by the customers themselves. Untreated, it offers a deliberate openness: it can remain in its original state. Pure material—honest and unadorned. But it can also be customized. With colored stain, colored wax, plain oil, or markers from our vast assortment, you can create entirely personal variations.
In this way, with just a few additional design elements, a single piece of furniture becomes its own little building set. Customization is not a requirement, but an invitation. It opens up space for creativity, personalization, and experimentation—and can thereby foster a stronger sense of connection to and satisfaction with the furniture. The chair thus embodies what Modulor is all about: materials and possibilities that can be combined, altered, and further developed. A simple principle with an infinite number of personal expressions—today, tomorrow, and beyond, and always different.
With the MO1 chair, Modulor and Studio DLF are launching a new product family. The name combines the initials of Modulor (and Moritzplatz—Modulor’s location) with an open, sequentially numbered system that is set to continue growing in the coming years. The locally manufactured chair follows a clear and honest design principle. Visible joints, minimal use of materials, and its flat-pack construction make it durable, space-saving, and easy to transport. It is initially available in a natural wood finish (spruce).
