The Luxo L-1 table lamp is undoubtedly a classic among desk lamps. The color scheme of what is probably the most famous lamp in the world (over 25 million sold worldwide) has so far been rather classic: black, white, grey. With the basic colors yellow, red and blue available exclusively from Modulor, you can now set colorful accents in the office or at home with the lamp. One of our long-cherished wishes has now come true: The L-1 in color!
The Luxo L-1 was designed back in 1937 by the Norwegian designer and founder of Luxo, Jac Jacobsen (born 1901, died 1996), is exhibited in many museums and has received numerous awards for its excellent design - the luminaire also appears in the opening credits of Pixar animated films and in the Oscar-nominated short film "Luxo Jr.".
The design of the Luxo L-1 is based on the "Anglepoise" joint principle developed by George Carwardine in 1933 for a table lamp, which is based on the dimensions and function of the human arm. In contrast to many replicas of this lamp, the original impresses with its long arm and high-quality springs, which ensure that the lamp remains in the same position even after decades. The switch of this light is designed for continuous operation with light bulbs up to 20 watts (no burnt switches)!
The light can be securely attached to all standard table tops (up to a thickness of 65 millimeters) using the table clamp supplied. If you want to use your light in different locations, you should order the matching table base separately.
