Properties: Hard fabric consists of layers of cotton fabrics impregnated with phenolic resin. This produces a material with a very hard surface and low bending elasticity. Hard fabric is exceptionally wear resistant, self-extinguishing and insensitive to cold.
Application: The classic area of application is in mechanical engineering: gears and bearings made of hard fabric can transmit large forces at high speeds. For the design sector, it is primarily of interest due to its aesthetic properties.
The phenolic resin gives the material a warm brown tone, but this can vary depending on the delivery. The surface of the material is silky-smooth and reveals the top layer of the fine cotton fabric. Stable as it is, it can be well used for the construction of all kinds of furnishings.
