The DIY set contains a kit for a small bird feeder made of light-colored pine wood. You assemble the birdhouse yourself using glue and nails, following the instructions on the back of the packaging. The project is suitable if you want to create a simple piece of woodwork that requires precise work. After assembling the birdhouse, you can leave it natural or customize it (and protect it from the weather), for example with paint or a pyrography tool. If you paint it, the paint should be suitable for outdoor use according to Liferant; the feeder plate itself should not be painted. The feeder can then be hung from a tree in the garden. This not only creates a home-made decorative object for outside, but also an opportunity to observe birds and talk to children about native bird species and how to deal with land creatures.
