Sophisticated plug system made of solid wood: Regal Dado does not need screws or other connectors made of metal or plastic for its construction. And you don't need any tools other than your hands, because you simply push and push the vertical, horizontal, and diagonal pieces of wood together. You take Dado apart again just as easily when you move.
The patented plug-in system from Dado was developed in the Berlin design office, Allenkaufmann, and pays homage to a traditional American wood joining technology with the same name. "Dado" (pronounced "day-doh") is a cut or trench – usually made perpendicular to the material surface and across the wood grain. Allenkaufmann has extended this technique and also uses a 45° angle for the cuts and longitudinal grooves parallel to the grain. With this preparation, the wooden parts can be put together so that the shelf is perfectly braced and, therefore, completely stable.
Dado has no hidden screws or brackets on the bottom. On the contrary: No matter the direction you look at the puristic wood shelf, you can enjoy its aesthetic wood joinery.
Dado is suitable for the living room, but also the office – as a low shelf at the desk or as a high room divider in the living room. Whether you opt for solid oak or striking black stained ash wood, the wood will age in dignity. And you have a shelf for life.
Important: Wood is a natural product and changes over time. Please make sure that you don't place the shelf directly next to a heater, and do not choose a place in direct sunlight.
