Pleasantly soft and yet distinctly voluminous, the Chunky yarn forms a suitable basis for large-scale textile works such as blankets or cushion covers. Regardless of whether you knit, crochet or weave, the untwisted merino fibers create a characteristic, textured surface.
With a yarn width of around 25 mm, the material can be worked directly with your hands. Alternatively, you can work with needles by spraying the fiber strand lightly with warm soapy water, turning it carefully and allowing it to dry. This improves handling. The yarn is suitable for needle sizes of around 30-45 mm. The fiber strand can also be split so that it can be processed with correspondingly thinner needles.
The wool may loosen slightly in the first few days after processing. Over time, the structure becomes denser again. For care, finished work can be treated chemically or using the refreshing function of the washing machine at a low temperature. The wool does not come into direct contact with water and does not swell.
The untwisted nature of the yarn also makes it suitable for spinning.
