BrushEx erases water-based, non-permanent brush pen, stamp, and watercolor paints on paper. Ingenious: After drying, you can repaint or stamp the erased spot with the SAME color. And that works as often as you like.

With BrushEx, not only can you correct mistakes in calligraphy or watercolor painting, but also use it to write in colored areas, for blending effects, and to add highlights when coloring. You can use the erasing brushes to create wonderfully subtractive work, i.e., you can remove color from your image to work out shapes.

We've tested BrushEx for you and achieved the best results with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens and Talens Ecoline Brush Pens.

The two brush tips with wide or fine tip work, in principle, like water brushes and can easily be refilled. Use the BrushEx Refill color solution. BrushEx contains bleach; the smell reminds us a bit of a visit to an indoor pool.

Here's how it works:
1. Test BrushEx first on a piece of paper, because not all papers are suitable. For best results, use uncoated matte paper such as mixed media or watercolor paper.
2. Now, you need to be brave for a short period of time: If you have crossed over the area to be deleted with a brush, it only blurs the color.
3. Wait a few seconds to a minute; then the color is completely gone. Dark colors take longer to disappear than bright ones.
4. After a sufficient drying time, you can paint over or write on the paper on the erased spot with the same color.

You can repeat this as often as you like, but make sure that your paper doesn't soften due to so much moisture.

Modulor Tip: We also experimented with alcohol-based pens, such as Copic markers. Although this color cannot be erased entirely, it bleaches heavily, and in some cases, changes completely to a different hue. That, too, may be really exciting for you in artistic work.
