The limited-edition watercolor sets from Berlin-Edition are designed for painting urban scenes and landscapes. Here you’ll find color combinations that are particularly well-suited for urban sketching. If you’re still missing shades that you’d like to use on your excursions through urban or rural areas, the 12- and 36-color sets still have room for up to six or 12 additional colors, respectively, which you can customize to your liking.
Horadam by Schmincke is a solid watercolor pigment of the highest artist quality, available in many brilliant, harmoniously coordinated shades. The paint impresses with its excellent solubility (even when already dry) and optimal color rendering, even on delicate watercolor papers. The paint is suitable for beginners and advanced artists alike.
The paint’s opacity depends on the layer thickness and the pigment used. In the Horadam range, the spectrum extends from translucent to opaque. Although the paint is relatively lightfast, you should not expose watercolor paintings to direct sunlight for extended periods due to the typically thin application of paint, and you may want to apply a UV-protective varnish if necessary.
The Berlin Editions are the result of a collaboration between Modulor and Schmincke. The concept, development, and design of the product were the result of a stimulating collaboration. For us, the icing on the cake is the illustrative watercolor by our colleague Regula Neeracher on the banderole.
