The Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic Create Set offers everything you need to discover the world of mixed-media acrylic art. It includes acrylic paints from the Amsterdam Standard Series, two acrylic markers, modeling paste, two flat brushes, a painting knife, and a canvas board. With this set, you can paint large areas as well as add lines and details, build up impasto textures, and experiment with different tools for applying paint. This set is especially well-suited if you want to do more than just paint with traditional acrylics—if you’d like to combine multiple techniques.
The color selection includes twelve 20-ml tubes of Amsterdam Standard Series acrylic paint. In addition to Primary Yellow, Vermilion, Pyrrole Red, and Chinacridone Pink, the set includes Ultramarine, Ultramarine Violet, Primary Cyan, Turquoise Green, Permanent Green Dark, Burnt Umber, Oxide Black, and Dark Gold. This selection is complemented by a larger 120-ml tube of Titanium White. This provides you with a larger quantity of white for lightening, mixing, and creating larger areas of light color. The Amsterdam Standard Series is based on a 100-percent acrylic emulsion with high-quality pigments and has a medium viscosity that promotes even paint application.
For more precise lines and accents, the set includes two Amsterdam Acrylic Markers with 4-mm tips in Titanium White and Oxide Black. The water-based acrylic paint in the markers is odorless, dries quickly, and becomes waterproof once dry. This allows you to add contours, lettering, graphic elements, or finishing details directly to your acrylic painting, for example.
The included 120-ml Amsterdam Modeling Paste creates textured and absorbent surfaces. You can apply it undiluted or mix it with acrylic paint; the titanium white pigment it contains makes any mixed colors appear lighter. For application, the set includes a medium-sized painting knife and two flat synthetic brushes from the Amsterdam Series 600 in sizes 6 and 18. The included Talens Canvas Board, measuring 18 x 24 cm, provides you with a sturdy painting surface right away for your first projects using the materials in the set.
