The Urban Sketchers set by Roman Szmal in the version with 12 half pans is tailored to the requirements of drawing and painting in urban spaces. It combines a carefully selected color palette with a sturdy, black lacquered metal box designed for mobile use. The watercolors included are from the Aquarius series and are produced in the traditional way based on gum arabic and honey. This formula helps the colors to dissolve quickly, absorb water evenly and release intense pigments in a controlled manner.
The selection of 12 color shades covers a broad spectrum that is relevant for architecture, street scenes, vegetation and atmospheric lighting situations. The good miscibility of the individual pigments allows differentiated shades of gray and intermediate tones to be created, which are crucial for urban motifs. At the same time, the palette enables strong accent colors for details such as signage, windows or clothing.
