Flute typeE-flute corrugation
Quality brown/brownTop layer 1: kraftliner, 125 g/m², brown; fluting: fluting material, 100 g/m²; top layer 2: testliner, 140 g/m², brown
Quality white/whiteTop layer 1: kraftliner, 125 g/m², white; corrugated layer: corrugated fabric, 100 g/m²; top layer 2: kraftliner, 125 g/m², white
Material behaviorNot always completely flat; slight curves possible due to changes in humidity

This micro-flute corrugated board with E-flute on both sides is a fine-flute corrugated board composite developed for applications in which a low material thickness is combined with good dimensional stability and a comparatively smooth surface. The E-flute is characterized by its low flute height and therefore creates a flat, uniform appearance. The material is particularly suitable for packaging, protective linings and laminating applications where little volume is required but a certain rigidity and compressive strength is needed at the same time.

The structure consists of a single corrugated layer of 100 g/m² corrugated material bonded between two cover layers. Different cover paper qualities are used depending on the version. In the brown/brown version, the outer side is made of 125 g/m² brown kraftliner, while the opposite side is made of 140 g/m² brown testliner. This combination combines a resilient outer surface with an economical inner layer and is intended for functional packaging and protection applications.

In the white/white version, both cover layers are made of white kraftliner, each weighing 125 g/m². This version offers an even, light-colored surface on both sides and is suitable for applications where a clean visual appearance, labeling or further processing is paramount. The kraftliner contributes to the tensile and tear strength of the laminate through its fiber structure.

As a paper-based material, microcorrugated board reacts to climatic influences. Changes in humidity can result in the sheets not remaining completely flat. Slight curvatures or bends several millimetres high are typical of the material and result from the moisture behavior of the paper fibers. This must be taken into account when planning precisely fitting applications and during storage.
