Jacquard Pearl Ex are dry mica-based effect pigments (mica) that are used to create shimmering, metallic or pearl-like surfaces. The pigments are available as a fine powder and are not used pure, but mixed into a suitable binder. This allows them to be flexibly adapted to different applications and integrated into various color and carrier media. Depending on the pigment type, the appearance ranges from subtly pearlescent to clearly metallic or iridescent.
The pigments are color-stable and do not change their effect on contact with water or common binders. As Pearl Ex itself does not contain a binder, the respective medium and substrate determine the final surface, adhesion and durability. Suitable carriers include acrylic binders, watercolor media, gouache, oils, varnishes, resins or adhesives. In this way, the pigments can be used for painting, printing techniques, mixed media work, paper and book design as well as for decorative surfaces.
Pearl Ex pigments can be mixed with each other and can also be combined with other colorants to create individual effects and color nuances. The intensity of the effect can be controlled via the mixing ratio. The product is supplied dry and allows precise dosing depending on the desired result.
