A hermetically sealed gas pressure refill ensures that the ink on Fisher's Space Pen Shuttle is writable even under the most difficult conditions - even in weightlessness. Its predecessor, the Fisher Astronaut Pen, has been used on all manned space flights in the USA since 1967 and the advanced Space Pen Shuttle also accompanies astronauts on Space Shuttle flights and on the ISS Space Station.
Even if the reliability of a ballpoint pen in weightlessness is probably not that important to you as a non-astronaut, you will benefit from the patented gas pressure refill because the Fisher Space Pen also writes with the tip pointing upwards, under water, on greasy and wet surfaces, in extreme cold (down to -35 °C) and hellish heat (up to 121 °C - we hope you will be spared a stay in this temperature range...).
