The wine and coffee inks are actually made from red wine and coffee. Wine has been used as an ink dye since the late Middle Ages. A small ink manufactory in the Westerwald has taken up this tradition and developed the inks so that they are suitable for writing in fountain pens. The wine is concentrated by heat, filtered several times, and the acids contained are bound by the addition of glycol to optimise the writing properties. The coffee is also transformed into a writable ink by filtering, concentrating, and the addition of glycol.

In terms of color intensity and writing characteristics, these pleasure inks are in no way inferior to the classic De Atramentis writing inks. You can use them not only with steel nib and brush, but also in fountain pens with piston mechanism or converter.
