With the make your own bouncy balls set from moses. Verlag you can make elastic balls yourself. The set combines a simple manufacturing process with a physical experiment. You work directly with the plastic granules contained in the set and observe how a compact, elastic ball is formed from individual particles. To make the ball, you fill the colored granules into the enclosed mould. Then activate the material with water. The granules bond together and form a firm, elastic structure within a few minutes. After a short drying time, you can remove the ball from the mold and test it. On impact with a solid surface, the typical rebound movement of an elastic body becomes apparent.
The manufacturing process makes it possible to see how materials bond together under certain conditions. Material behavior and elasticity can be observed directly while the ball is being made. The set thus provides practical access to the basic physical properties of elastic plastics. Different colored granules can be used to produce individual bouncy balls. The colors can be used separately or combined with each other, so you can also produce multi-colored, individually patterned balls.
The compact packaging contains all the necessary materials for the experiment. This means that the set can be used without additional aids. It is suitable for short experimentation phases at home or as a small project in science lessons. The product is part of the PhänoMINT series from moses. Verlag, which makes simple experiments from the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural science and technology accessible.
