With the card game "Favorite Pieces. An Art Quartet", Laurence King Verlag has created a lively combination of fun and art education: The set comprises 50 playing cards with illustrations of selected masterpieces from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) as well as an accompanying booklet with background information on the artworks, artists and trends.
The game is played as a classic quartet: each player collects cards to form a group of four (a quartet) - in this case, four related works of art form a thematic unit. The aim is to collect them all. At the same time, the accompanying booklet allows you to delve deeper into works of art and their historical contexts. The combination of collecting appeal, game mechanics and information value makes the product suitable for art enthusiasts as well as for family game rounds in which a little knowledge is imparted alongside the fun of the game.
