The Koh-i-Noor Burmester Curve Set consists of three large curve stencils for drawing uniform, technically precise curves. The small set (No. 2) includes the Burmester curve templates K12, K22, and K32; the large set includes the templates K13, K23, and K33. You can use them when freehand drawings would be too imprecise or when repeatable curve paths are needed—for example, in technical drawing, design processes, engineering drawings, model making, education and academic work, or in graphic layouts requiring precise curves.

The stencils are made of smoky, transparent polystyrene. The transparent material helps you keep track of lines, reference points, and elements already drawn beneath the stencil. This allows you to align curve segments more precisely with existing points and extend them across multiple line segments. The smoky tint also reduces the harsh transparency of a completely clear material and makes the stencil edges more visible on light-colored paper. With three different shapes and sizes, the set covers a range of curve radii. This allows you to choose the appropriate line path from several splines, rather than having to derive a curve from a single stencil shape.
