Polymer foams

In comparison with trimmed light blue Styrofoam the untrimmed version has somewhat coarser pores, does not have as high a compressive strength and its 35 kg/m³ density is about one third less.

Although designed as an insulating material for exterior walls, this material can also be used to represent surrounding areas in architectural models or as a base body for styling models. Styrofoam is cut by means of a hot wire cutter, can be rasped and will not melt when being glued with Teas all-purpose glue or UHU por.

Styrofoam is free of HBCD (Hexabromcyclododecane).

The thicknesses of these pre-cut styrofoam sheets have been precisely cut, and they can be further cut both easily and quickly and at the same time precisely with a HOT WIRE CUTTER or a blade.

This material is denser than the uncut version of styrofoam we have on offer. Because of this, you will clearly see just how much smoother the faces are of the cuts made with the hot wire cutter. In order to achieve a uniformly white colour it is best to spray the foam with a coat of grey paint first.

We normally deliver the panels in slightly larger sizes than those given because any small border imperfections are not removed. The given dimensions can, however, be taken at face value.

Kapa line is the universal product in the range of Kapa sandwich panels. Because its core is covered with cardboard, it can be grooved or slotted and cut more easily with a cutter than the plates based on Kapa mount. It is therefore the optimum architectural modeling material in scales from 1:100 to 1:1, combining well with Bristol, offset or screen-printed board.

Kapa line is offered in a wide range of formats. The wide board formats in particular allow flexible use of the latest digital printing technology and can therefore also be used in the field of visual communication, advertising, photo campaigns or decoration!

When laminating Kapa line, counter-laminate on the reverse side, otherwise the plates may warp. If the plates are painted with emulsion paints or fully colored, it is necessary to work on both sides for the same reason.

We cut Kapa panels to your desired size, but the whole panel will be charged, as we cannot use the cuttings for other purposes. Please refer to the information under customization.
