This squeegee-type applicator, which is made of sturdy stiffened felt, fits nicely in your hand - not least because it is a generous 10 mm thick. This feature also assures that any material being worked on will not be damaged (read: scratched) and the giving nature of the felt allows for good control over the amount of pressure you apply when doing mounting work. It can be used well for either wet or dry mounting, during which the material to be mounted should be squeegeed into place little by little. In working with photographs or smooth papers, the squeegee applicator should be wrapped in a soft cotton cloth or the like so that the felt does not cause any fine scratches. As mentioned above, this squeegee-type applicator can be used for wet mounting - this is because the firm felt will only absorb a relatively small amount of water.
