The Ingres-Vidalon, which has an elegant lengthwise textural configuration displaying a ribbed look and a laid finish, is a paper with a high rag content. (It looks a lot like a common paper from the former DDR called “Achatpapier” which translates to “agate paper” for whatever that’s worth!). Ingres-Vidalon is acid-free (except for black) and exhibits good colour stability. Its texture is the real classic for pastel, graphite and coloured pencils as well as ruddle and chalk. In addition, it is also good for use with inks and light “wash” techniques. In bookbinding, it can be nicely used as an endpaper (an endpaper is a sheet of paper folded once to form two leaves, one of which is pasted flat to the inside of the front or back cover of a book with the other pasted to the inside edge of the first or last page to form a flyleaf).
