Cherry blossoms (in Japanese called "Sakura") are a fairly commom motif on Japanese cloth - they are, after all, the National Flower that serves as an important symbol in Japanese culture. Cherry Blossoms are traditionally compared to Samurai in Japan and stand for beauty, awakening and transitoriness. The time of the cherry blossoms marks a point of culmination in the Japanese calendar as well as the beginning of Spring!
This lightweight cotton is printed on both sides with irregularly scattered blossoms and is particularly suited for making kimonos. It can, of course, also be used to make other types of clothing, bags, pillows, curtains and other accessories.
