Neukasil RTV 22 is great for use as a mould making material for moulds with light to medium undercuts. Because of its low viscosity, the mixture very easily releases any bubbles formed during stirring (in other words: without the need for vacuum) and is subsequently very easily poured. RTV 22 is comparatively soft and should not be used for large moulds if the planned walls are to be thin because the sturdiness of the mould will be compromised, thereby negatively effecting the precision of the final reproduction. This silicone is food safe, which means that it can be used for making moulds meant to be filled with chocolate, marzipan and the like. When used for this purpose it should be noted that the finished mould should be tempered for 2 to 3 hours at a temperature between 150 and 170 °C after being removed from the master pattern and before first being filled with the food substance so as to be sure that any ingredients on the surface that may not have completely vulcanized will be dissolved.
