Custom cutting of plastic, wood, cardboard, metal

You can get all sheets and panels of plastic, wood, cardboard and metal as well as all rods, tubes and profile strips made from these materials in custom cut sizes.

Price of material

In calculating the price of custom cutting there are two categories of materials. The applicable group for each product will be shown at the top portion of the custom cutting form:

• „Custom cutting without remainders“
  For custom cutting of materials for which there is the possibility of choosing your desired dimensions at the online shop. There is no charge for any remainders; the applicable price will only reflect the actual size of the material you ordered and will be displayed in the webshop shopping cart if Javascript is activated.


• „Purchasing whole sheets“ (custom cutting with remainders)
  All other materials that fall outsided the first category can be cut to your desired dimensions. You simply buy the available standard size of the material you want cut. We send you the finished cut together with any remainders.
  
  Important: In this second case, the price given in the bill will be based on the entire standard size (regardless of your custom cutting request). The price of the material shown in the webshop shopping cart is in this case (only) NOT correct. You will be apprised by Modulor of the correct price in a separate order confirmation. Taking into account the size of the sheet and the square metre price, both of which can be seen on the form and in the shopping cart, it should be easy to figure out the total price yourself
  
  These rules also apply to profiles, rods and tubes. Please be sure to provide us with your required custom cut dimensions in a comment accompanying your order.

Custom cutting prices

In addition to the price of the material itself, there is a one-time flat rate charge for a custom cut:

• Custom cutting of plastic, wood or cardboard:
• for exactly one piece: 3,00 €
• for 2 to 10 pieces: 5,00 €


• for cutting orders that contain metal:
• for exactly one piece: 5,00 €
• for 2 to 10 pieces: 8,50 €

DThe flat rate charge is based on the order and not the type of material involved. A single order containing, for instance, various plastics and woods to be custom cut will only have the one-time flat rate charge for plastic and wood. If the order also includes metal that needs cutting, only the flat rate for multiple metal pieces will be charged. For custom cutting in large quantities (over 10 cuts) you are welcome to inquire about possible conditions.

Custom cutting tolerances

The standard dimensional accuracy is ± 1 mm. In the few instances when cutting by hand is necessary, tolerances up to 2 mm can occur. Right angularity is ± 1mm/m. Right angularity refers to how exactly parallel the side opposed to the cut is. Right angularity and dimensional accuracy failure are the sum of all individual errors.

Delivery times for orders that include custom cutting

• Small jobs have no influence on the time needed for delivery.
• Delivery time for larger or complicated jobs can take about 2 or 3 days longer.

Conditions for custom cutting orders

We only cut right angles. The minimum cutting dimensions are:

• For plastic and wood: 100 x 100 mm, unless one side is longer than 500 mm, in which case the other side must be at least 50 mm in width.
• For metal: 50 x 50 mm

When ordering textured materials please give the desired textural configuration (lengthwise or crossways). If none is given, configuration will be ignored when cutting.

When cutting perforated sheets it is impossible to guarantee the precise positioning of the un-perforated edge. You can, however, make an order requiring that all the sides have perforated edges. Please make a note of this when ordering. The maximum available sheet size is thereby reduced to 20 mm or less. Because special edge cuts will be necessary in such cases, an additional one time “edging” charge of 2.50 € will be added to the normal custom cut flat rate incurred by the order.

Ordering custom cutting

Custom cuts can only be carried out if your order is unambiguous and comprehensible. All dimensions should be given in millimeters. We will not be responsible for mistakes that arise as a result of your unclear instructions. All custom cuts, special orders as well as all materials that have been cut from rolls may not be returned.
