The Stanley tin-snips justifies its price by its high quality: good material, non-slip handle, hand protector and intelligent construction (high degree of leverage). The snips will cut steel, aluminium, brass and copper as well as plastic sheets up to a thickness of about 1.2 mm. Also within its capabilities is sheet steel made from hardened steel like, for example, stainless steel up to a thickness of 0.7 mm. When cutting with these snips you should keep in mind that the sheet steel will be deformed by the mechanical working of the shears. The right side of the cut bends slightly upwards; this effect is most obvious on thicker sheets.
